Very interesting! I don't know much about the ouroboros as a symbol but it does seem pretty self-negating to be eternally eating yourself. I have thought a lot recently about the concept of evil and whether anything is truly evil since God created everything. I wonder if our dualistic thinking (good/evil) is appropriate given we worship one God. Thank you for this article - it was good food for thought!

Speaking of evil and pride being self-referential - I'm guessing that would also apply to Atheism. Atheism is evil because it is a sin to deny God. Atheism isolates one from God. So, inevitably, Atheism causes one to become self-referential, since one must turn to something once they are separated from natural communal hierarchy, and this is inevitable the only reality that matters to the prideful person: oneself. Thus, it is no wonder that the Atheist worldview tends towards an acceptance of sin - denial of God leads to the elevation of the Self, elevation of the Self is an act of pride, and pride is the mother of all sin.

Atheism's rejection of God is ultimately ignorance of Self. You cannot isolate yourself from God, since God is your very Self. You simply don't know who you are. You have confused self for Self and all manner of sin will follow. True repentance is the return to Self from self. It is to set aside your selfish delusions and to be transfigured in the renewal of your mind - to see yourself for who you really are - and to live consciously in God.
